Orthodontics 101
Orthodontics is an incredible tool to help your child achieve a long-lasting, healthy, and beautiful smile. When your child has braces, it is important to take a moment to learn about the foods they can eat and the foods they shouldn’t eat. Being aware of foods to avoid with braces can save your child from damaging their braces, which could extend the length of time they would need to wear them. As an added bonus, we’ve developed a handy printable graphic to help our patients with braces remember what foods they can enjoy and which foods they should avoid.
Your child should always keep their teeth clean after eating, but with braces it is even more important and yes - it can be a little more involved. Make sure that your child brushes and flosses their teeth after they eat to keep bits of food from sticking in their braces.
